Gino S. Nicolai passed away suddenly on May 22, 2002. Speaking for all of us at Hannabery HVAC, Gino wasn't just our President, he was our friend. And to many of us, he was like a father.
Gino's life and his deeds were almost legendary. If someone was down on their luck, he would offer them a job. If someone needed a ride, he would lend them a car. If someone was sick or hurt, he would be the first person to visit. If someone needed help, he would provide it. He did these things not just for friends or employees but for anyone; customers, acquaintances, strangers.
Gino was a very spiritual, kind, giving, and loving person. His goal wasn't of riches or fame but simply to be the best person he could be, offer the best possible services a company could provide, touch as many lives as he possibly could, and enjoy life to the fullest.
Gino was a graduate of Moravian College. He received a master's degree from Lehigh University and attended Moravian Seminary. He was also a professional musician. He loved Steely Dan and Warren Zevon. Gino was a member of Rolling Hills United Methodist Church in Plumsteadville, serving as a trustee and head of the building committee.
Gino was also a founding father of the IQA - Independent Quality Alliance. A group of Independent contractors committed to raising the bar for customer service and care. It was his passion to work together with other select companies, committed to setting new standards for excellence and accountability in contractor services. Gino's primary focus was on having the best-trained technicians in the industry.
Gino was a member of the Lehigh Carbon Community College Workforce Training Advisory Board, where he was working on establishing a College level Associates degree for HVACR. He was also a member of the Lehigh County Career Institute Advisory Board and the Upper Bucks County Technical School.
Gino touched so many lives in so many different ways. He could walk into a room of strangers and walk out of a room of friends. He left his mark on all of us and we are all better people for having known him. A co-worker of mine recently said that Gino lived simply to meet just one more person, to extend his hand and say "Hi, I'm Gino Nicolai".
Gino Nicolai was a loving husband, a great father, the perfect boss, and a wonderful friend.
Gino Nicolai, You will be missed but never forgotten.
The Hannabery HVAC family misses Gino very much but his spirit and kindness will live on through everything we do. Our company is strong; we have fine leadership, a wise management group, the best-trained technicians, and a caring support staff. We are committed to carry on Gino's legacy of providing quality work, fair prices, customer satisfaction, and a personal touch.
Simply put, Hannabery HVAC is and always will be "The Company That Cares"
